Introduction
The Scarlet Pigs is an ARMA 3 unit originally made up from two distinct smaller groups that merged, namely the Scarlet Banner Regiment (german) and the Flying Pig Games (english) group. Our groups met through coincidence and came to talking, deciding to try out a game together and to all of our enjoyment, that has been quite successful.
Nowadays the group has truly merged, becoming a cohesive whole that has grown ever-since to be larger, more faceted, more diverse. Today we sport nearly 100 members, about 20 of them highly active and attending nearly every weekend operation we run.
We pride ourselves on a rather relaxed atmosphere out of game, where hierarchies are flat and nobody has to address another by rank or anything like that. We are open to all comers, so long as you fulfill the basic requirements below.
Section 02
Our playstyle
ARMA is a game that can be played in a lot of different ways, and it is vital to know how a group plays so you can see if it is compatible with what you want out of the game.
We play a semi-serious milsim game, meaning once the mission starts, there is a strict hierarchy and you are expected to follow orders, do your assigned job and take the game seriously. Goofing off in periods of rest is fine, so long as you get your gameface on the moment an order comes in or bullets start flying — and you're not overdoing it.
We orient ourselves around some military doctrines and realities, but in the end we are still playing a game and thus going our own way in terms of equipment guidelines, organization and how we approach certain things. While we try to be realistic on principle, we do not enjoy full-on hardcore realism milsim to the fullest.
Nearly all our missions are infantry-focussed, though we do typically enjoy and even prefer a mixed-unit experience when we have the manpower to do so. That means we try to utilize attached armor, Close Air Support (fixed-wing and rotary), SpecOps forces (sniper groups, etc.) and artillery. Missions are pre-made cooperative or run by a Zeus Gamemaster and will nearly always feature premade loadouts made to fit the operations we typically run (i.e. no free Arsenal choice).
Section 03
Playtimes
Currently the unit runs one big operation per week and several smaller game-sessions where Antistasi, Vindicta and other gamemodes are being played. At any time the server isn't required for anything else (mission testing) you are free to request it being put online and available to play on.
The weekly prime event features 20+ players engaging in cooperative MilSim fun, and we ask people to try and make time for it, but understand that real life always comes first.

Requirements to join
The golden rule
You need to behave in a mature way and not be a douchebag.
Show up
Try to attend operations. If real life intervenes or you need a longer hiatus, please let an Officer know.
Play as a team
We require players to be team-oriented and not playing lone wolf / Rambo. Stick with the team, be part of a greater whole.
Age and maturity
New players must be at least 14 years of age, though we reserve the right to deny those lacking the requisite maturity to play along in an organized unit, no matter the age.
Basic humanity
Our group stands firmly behind the basic humanity of everyone. We do not tolerate dehumanization on any level, be it racism, homophobia, transphobia and other behaviours that deny human agency.
No NSFW
We do not tolerate NSFW materials on the server.
